The Great Himalayan Master of Masters
Mahavatar Babaji is ageless yogi, eternal youth. He is formless who has walked upon earth for over 9000 years already. Babaji appears before his disciples at times in any form he wishes to liberate humanity from its worldly miseries. Time has failed to reveal the facts about his birth, identity, and life.
He appeared in physical body in 1970 in a cave that has been holy for thousands of years at the foot of the Kumaon Mount Kailash, across the sacred river Gautama Ganga from a remote village called Haidakhan
In the book “Eternal Breath – A Biography of Leonard Orr Founder of Rebirthing Breathwork” Leonard writes: “Babaji was teacher and guide to Jesus..Jesus spent nine years in Benaras, India with Babaji in the missing years….Babaji taught Jesus spiritual practices and disciplines during this time…”
He is also mentioned in the book “Autobiography of a Yogi”. Lahiri Mahasaya wrote in his diary that Babaji is Lord Krishna. Yogananda also frequently prayed out loud to ‘Babaji Krishna’
Babaji is the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament. He appeared as guru over the ages to Adam and Eve, Noah, Jesus, Moses, Kabir, Adi Shankaracharya to more recent saints like Sai Baba of Shirdi, Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon and Swami Samartha of Akkalkot.
Tibetan monks came to Shri Babaji in 1972 and hailed him as “Lama Baba” who had lived in Tibet about 500 years ago. There are stories of his appearance in Nepal as well as in India and Tibet.
He has guided the destiny of many people, yet he is perhaps one of the most accessible of siddhayogis.
At Haidakhan, Shri Babaji was worshipped by Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Sikhs, Moslems - even atheists found themselves bowing to him. He often reminded devotees that all mankind is one family - the Family of God. For those who asked about religion, he answered, “Follow the religion that is in your heart.”
